"The Shetland Methodist District seeks to offer Christian worship, teaching and fellowship in welcoming and safe environments. It seeks to also reach out to the people of these islands with the Gospel through word and mission service, working in partnership with other churches where possible"
When God made Shetland He made a place of wild beauty, teeming wildlife and stunning coastline and cliff scenery. Modern Shetland, just over an hour's flight away from Aberdeen or Glasgow (or overnight by Northlink ferry for those with reasonable sea legs and/or cars), is a place which still has these things in abundance but also has a thriving and unique cultural life, where music and the arts are never far away. Shetland, with all its modern facilities for sport and recreation, is a great place for families, with good schools, and a safe environment in which to raise children. Welcome to a very blessed corner of the UK.
God also placed Shetland at 60 degrees N - as far north as Leningrad (but without the Russian cold...and the wolves) which is why we tend to appear in a box tucked away in a corner of the map of the UK. So, click here to redress the balance and view a map of Shetland... and the rest of the UK.
