Our Circuit Churches - our Rural Churches
In Shetland, most churches are "rural" in that they are situated in sparsely populated country areas.
This page (and the linked pages) is about those churches that form the Rural Churches Group.
Some have services at less frequent intervals, with smaller attendances than visitors from urban areas may be accustomed to, but all are vibrant centres for Christian worship and fellowship in their communities. They are worth visiting for the beauty of their locations and to spend a few moments in silent prayer, giving thanks to God for their continued existence, and for the Christian witness they have offered over the years.
Check out the service information on the appropriate church page for details of when services take place - you will find a link to our current Preaching Plan with up to date information on dates, times and who is leading the service.
